Bruce D. Greenstein is the Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals. He has extensive experience in the health care field, having worked in both the private and public sector. On the state level, Bruce worked for Governor Lawton Chiles in Florida leading the design and administration of health care programs. On the federal level, he served as Associate Regional Administrator and Director of Waivers and Demonstrations in U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), where he oversaw the state Medicaid programs and led the federal government’s Medicaid state reform efforts. Most recently, he served as the managing director of worldwide health for Microsoft Corp. Bruce enjoys combining his technological knowledge and health care experience in his role as DHH Secretary, as well as the opportunity to share health information and news with Louisianians through the Department’s social media websites.

Rudy Macklin
Executive Director, Louisiana Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports and Bureau of Minority Health Access

Durand “Rudy” Macklin is the Executive Director of Louisiana Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports (GCPFS) and the Department’s Bureau of Minority Health Access. He graduated from LSU in 1981 where he played on the Men’s Basketball team for four years before being drafted by the NBA. While in the NBA, Rudy played for the Atlanta Hawks and the New York Knicks. As an athlete and avid sports fan, Rudy enjoys promoting physical fitness, sports and wellness throughout the state. Through this blog, he will announce upcoming fitness, sports and wellness events, and update readers on the Council’s ongoing projects.
